This website was designed as a service to the residents of Fruitland Township as well as the local communities that surround it. Our hope is that we can bring a higher level of service to you with a wide range of e-information from a copy of the Fruitland Township Zoning Ordinance and downloadable applications to information on the Township Park and Local News. This site is ever changing so please continue to check back with us for updates and additional features.

Fruitland Township Hall Closing Information

Fruitland Township Hall will postpone for a two hour delay and open at 10:00 AM should Whitehall District Schools be closed due to severe weather. In the event that conditions remain severe, the Township Hall and/or Ecology Station may close for the entire day. Any delay or closure of the Township Hall or Ecology Station will be posted on WZZM 13.

The Fruitland Township Board of Trustees will meet on TUESDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2021 at 1:30 PM for the work session. This time change is to accommodate some board members  attending an online American Rescue Plan Act Funding Workshop.


The Fruitland Township Parks and Recreation Commission is updating their 5 - Year Master Plan vision for our park system, and we want to hear from you! Come help us identify community needs and offer suggestions for future improvements to our public green spaces. 

There is a drop in open house anytime from 6:00 - 8:00p.m. at the Fruitland Township Hall. Stop in to be a part of this community-driven, participatory design process. Want to contribute but can't make the input session? Take our online survey!

PINS (Partners in Neighborhood Safety)

The PINS program (Partners in Neighborhood Safety) is a partnership between Fruitland Township and the Muskegon County Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff's Office helps to maintain order of citizen population within the Township and nearby areas in need of emergency response; they assist in preventing disturbances, traffic enforcement, ordinance enforcement, public relations activities and performs related duties as required.
